Erosion on Black Rock Sands - This machine gun implacement appeared last year after spending half a century buried in the dunes. It is now rapidly falling into the sea.

Chwefror

Mae morlo cyfrwys ym Mhorthdinllaen wedi bod yn creu helbul i bysgotwyr cregyn moch. Bu'r lleidar wrthi'n selog yn dwyn y penwaig a roddir yn abwyd yn y cewyll  cregyn moch. Bellach mae wedi dysgu agor y cewyll ar waelod y môr er mwyn cael gafael ar y penwaig. Mae hefyd wrthi'n dysgu ei dechneg i forloi eraill.

Morlo llwyd / Grey seal

February

A cunning seal at Porthdinllaen has caused havoc for whelk fishermen. The thief has been stealing herring placed as bait in whelk pots. He has also learnt how to open the pots on the seabed in order to get at the herring and is teaching his technique to other seals.

Mawrth

Yn ystod y mis, bu cryn dreillio am gregyn bylchog ger arfordir Llŷn gyda rhai o'r cychod yn croesi'r ffin 3 milltir. Daeth hyn i ben wedi'r cwch pysgodfeydd "Aegis" gyrraedd Pwllheli

Sunfish are found throughout the world in warm and temperate seas. They grow up to 3m and can weigh about 1,400 kg. Sunfish drift at the surface while lying on their side or swim close to the surface with their dorsal fin projecting above the water.

Sunfish feed on animal plankton, eel larvae and small deep-sea fishes.

Rhagfyr

Dyma ddiwedd blwyddyn arall. Bu'n flwyddyn lwyddiannus yn  diwydiant pysgota ym Mhen Llŷn a'r llwyddiant mwyaf heb os nac onibai oedd cwblhau'r cynllyn V-nodi. Bellach, mae 7,400 o gimychesau wedi eu nodi a'u dychwelyd i'r môr. Byddent yn rhydd i atgenhedlu am o leiaf dair blynedd

It is now the end of yet another year. It has been a successful year for the fishing industry in Llŷn and the biggest success without doubt has been the V-notching scheme. 7,400 female lobsters have now been notched and returned to the sea. They will be free to reproduce for at least three years.
